Committees are a critical part of a 4-H club. These groups plan and supervise various club activities, helping members develop a sense of teamwork. Parents and club advisors can also be appointed to help committees be successful.
Committees may be appointed by the president with the assistance of the advisor or members may volunteer to serve on committees. All members should serve on at least one committee each year.
The Murrieta Mustangs club has both Special and Standing Committees to help organize the many events we do throughout the year.
Special Committees are short term groups that get together to organize, promote and execute a special event. Once the event is complete the committee is disassembled. Typically this group meets 2-4 times. Examples of a Special Committee would be the Veterans Day Parade Committee, the Holiday Party Committee and the Clover Days Committee.
Standing Committees typically meet once per month (or two) and plan how to incorporate their "subject" into the many events and projects going on in the club. These committees are long term and run throughout the entire 4-H year. Examples of Standing Committees are the Membership Committee, the Phone Tree Committee and the Record Book Committee.
Schedules do change from time to time, so make sure to consult the club calendar regularly.

This committee runs throughout the year and advises the Webmaster of great ideas and online resources to use. The members in this committee participate in the club's website (including photo album and member forum) as well as social media sites (FB, Instagram, twitter etc.).
