WHAT IS A PROJECT? HOW MUCH TIME IS INVOLVED?
A project is a specific area of learning that our members participate in. Projects include everything from archery to chickens and Legos to cooking. 4-H is much more than just an "ag" program. We participate with STEM program options and are heavily involved in community service and citizenship projects as well. We currently have over 15 projects to choose from. To see a list of our current projects available, click here.
Projects are a minimum of 6 hours but can change from project to project. You can find out more information from the projects adult leader.
*Please note that 4-H and the Murrieta Mustangs do not require members to have animals (farm or other wise) to participate. We also do not provide any animals to our members. If you choose to participate in an animal project AND want an animal it is your responsibility to source the animal.

HOW DO I SIGN MY CHILD UP FOR A PROJECT THAT THEY ARE INTERESTED IN LEARNING MORE?
On our Projects tab we have a complete list of the projects offered for the year. Our Calendar tab has the club calendar so you can see projects that have meetings scheduled. Further information on the project timings is in the Sign Up Form on the Projects tab. Use that form to sign your child(ren) up for projects. There is no limit as to how many projects you can participate in other than your own families schedule.
Any other ways to participate with the club?
Our club holds a monthly Community Meeting 1x per month. This is an important meeting and all members are required to attend at least 80% of these meetings to stay within good standing. We meet the second Thursday of every month at 6:00pm. See the calendar for exact dates.

Anything I need to bring with us when we attend our 1st club function?
Most likely your first club function will be at one our community meetings. If you've already signed up online and joined 4-H make sure to bring a copy of your signed Waiver for the club and the hostess will guide you to our community leader. You will also need to bring the $85 club fee at that time ($10 if you paid the $75 online when you enrolled). If you have multiple children and need to split it up into payments please make those arrangements with our community leader at that time.
It is also strongly encouraged for your child to have a 4-H binder to keep track of all of their paperwork throughout the year. Tabs that are titled with the names of your different projects makes finding items easier. Binders should be taken to all project meetings, monthly community meetings and events.
